This natural wedding inspiration at the Meadow Muse Pavilion in Fish Creek Provincial Park is a perfect example of how you can incorporate natural elements into your mountain wedding and still have it be elegant and modern.
This natural wedding inspiration was a collaboration between Great Events Group, Tara Whittaker Photography and Naturally Chic. It took place on a beautiful, fall day at the Meadow Muse Pavilion in Fish Creek Provincial Park. They were joined by the talented Sarah Mayerson Design. The results, I think, are beautiful! It’s also featured in Avenue Calgary Magazine!
Meadow Muse Pavilion is one of Calgary’s newest wedding facilities operated by Great Events Group. It’s a beautiful open air tent complete with hardwood floors, chandeliers, wood bar and incredible views of the Fish Creek Park. It’s as close to al fresco dining as you can get (but with complete coverage if you need it) and it lends itself to beautiful, natural decor like its surroundings. That said, it’s also a beautiful “blank canvas” that’s suitable for any decor style!
From the photographer, Tara Whittaker:
“This shoot was all about blending natural beauty and timeless elegance. Meadow Muse Pavilion is a charming and elegant tent, set amongst the swaying grasses of Fish Creek Provincial Park. A neutral, botanical theme complemented the natural surroundings, punctuated by black and white striped napkins and hits of gold. The centerpieces composed of florals and seasonal produce (artichokes & kale), were perfectly untamed.
Our Bride and Groom mirrored the laid-back sophistication of the reception décor. Sarah’s Nicole Miller gown was understated and classic. One of the delights of Fish Creek Park is the opportunity to capture couple portraits as the golden sun sinks behind the tree line, and we did just that. We hope that this shoot will inspire couples to embrace nature and the beauty of the season.”
Naturally Chic created wood place card holders, table numbers and for a bit of whimsy, chalkboard wine charm tags. Ali from Modern Pulp Design Studio created menus and place cards that perfectly complemented the modern, botanical decor.
Sarah Mayerson Design is simply one of the best at creating loose, unstructured, natural centerpieces!
Cakeworks created these trio of pretty cakes that were adorned with tiny, deer figurines as cake toppers.
Lyana Gibert from The Art of Beauty created a modern ‘half up, half down’ hairstyle for the bride and her makeup application was natural and pretty.
Ali from Modern Pulp Design Studio made this gorgeous modern and whimsical invitation suite, that was perfectly suited to the natural theme.
Naturally Chic created the wood, chalkboard bunting as a means of letting guests know they were appreciated. The thank you banner hung on an antique, wood hutch and housed small terrariums (from the Plant in Inglewood) that were given to the guests as wedding favors.
Tiny gold deer figurines, peeked out from behind the plants and greenery.
The sparkly gold flats from Nine West were fit for a princess!
All the linens and decor were from Great Events Rentals, including the stunning botanical linens, striped napkins, gold chargers, plates, glasses etc. They are the exclusive caters for Meadow Muse Pavilion, making it a perfect, “one-stop” for venue, catering and rentals!!
Tara’s gorgeous shot of the bride (below) was named one of the Best of 2014 Wedding Photography Series – Bridal Portraits by the Calgary Bridal Association.
