Fairmont Banff Springs Wedding Part 2

Last week we shared a gorgeous Fairmont Banff Springs wedding from Alan Maudie Photography and Shannon Valente Weddings. Today we’re sharing the lovely details (you can see Part 1 here). It’s a beautifully photographed, classic wedding. Throw in a ‘castle’, stunning mountain scenery, gorgeous flowers and a seriously delicious looking sweets table and you know it’s going to be a stunning!

So much prettiness!

The couple chose a classic color palette of white, navy, and  gold, with pops of marsala. The combination proved to be a perfect fit for the room and complemented the elegant architecture.

The head table decked out with greenery and lace linens, made for a dramatic focal point. The roomed glowed under the soft lighting! Every detail was perfect.

This basketball hoop was for the couple’s ‘kissing game’; so clever! I’m guessing the couple had a lot of kissing to do with plenty of pro basketball players in attendance!

Such a beautifully styled sweets table full of decadent desserts for Melanie and Nathan’s guests to enjoy!

From the Bride and Groom / Favorite Wedding Details from their Fairmont Banff Wedding:

1. The sweets table. A lot of work went into our gorgeous cake, but the sweets table went far and beyond that, including cake pops, cookies, cupcakes and candy as part of the dessert. Custom signs and flower arrangements finished the look.

2. Our Flowers. Lyn (Flower Artistry) did an absolutely amazing job creating just the look we (and Mel’s mom, Janice) had in mind. We asked Lyn for loose, elegant arrangements, with lots of greenery, red and blush tones, and she more than delivered.

3. Our basketball hoop. The family is big into sports. We (Melissa and Nate) both played professional basketball (and Melissa’s brother plays hockey for the Calgary Flames). Instead of the usual clinking of the glasses, we spray-painted a full-sized, children’s basketball hoop navy and gold and had guests try to make a trick shot to make us kiss.

4. The Castle. Since the wedding was at the Banff Springs we wanted to play up the castle aspect with lots of grand centerpieces, gold accents and even castled themed items for the Photo Booth.

The Honeymoon:

After the wedding, Melissa and Nate, accompanied by some honeymoon-crashing friends, headed up to Kalamalka Lake for some post-wedding relaxation. Melissa had to start studying nearly right away for work, so it gave Nate plenty of time to plan their real honeymoon. Later, in November, the couple took off for a month in Southeast Asia, including stops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
