Charming Canmore Wedding in Fall

Posted by Sharon Auld

Today we’re featuring a beautiful Canmore wedding from Kim Payant Photography. With classic mountain, fall scenery and lot’s of DIY elements, Breanne and Eric’s wedding was picture perfect. The bride, Breanne, is also a graphic designer so doing her own stationery was a must! I love when couple’s interject their personalities into their wedding, and what better way than with lots of DIY! I’m also a huge fan of intimate weddings with your closest family and friends present. This wedding has it all!

The couple wanted a rustic mountain wedding but wanted to avoid the typical fall colors of red, orange and brown. Instead they decided on a color palette with hints of jewel tones; emerald green, sapphire blue and deep purple. The colors perfectly complemented the surrounding Canmore mountain scenery.

“We’ve always loved what we call “Northern” decor such as exposed wood, mountains, pinecones, plaid and burlap. Because of this, we easily settled having a destination wedding in Canmore, AB to be surrounded by the beautiful nature we love so much.

After seeing photos online from another wedding, The Bear and Bison Inn was a no-brainer – this was exactly the place we had been looking for!

From the Couple:

What were your top three wedding moments?

“The View/Location: After seeing photos online from another wedding, The Bear and Bison Inn was a no-brainer – this was exactly the place we had been looking for! Although we knew what beauty was in store, nothing compares to actually being surrounded by it in person. I always have people telling me how lovely our photos are an how it looks like we’ve been photoshopped into the landscape.

Saying I do: One of our top moments has to be saying “I do” to each other. After years of waiting, finally being married to the one we love was the most special part of our day.

Having our Family Share Our Special Day:  We knew that having a destination wedding meant that not everyone we would liked to have come to the wedding could make it. To have our close family be able to join us on our special day really made us feel at home even though we were so far away.
