This modern Canmore mountain wedding is special to us at Canadian Mountain Chic. You might remember, Breanne and Tristan from their fun, picnic engagement session we featured last year.
Breanne and Tristan are a super sweet, awesome couple and once again they teamed up with Banff wedding photographer, Kim Payant Photography, and Canmore wedding planner, Naturally Chic. The result was a gorgeous day for this amazing couple! This pretty wedding is loaded with wedding inspiration for modern mountain wedding.
Breanne is an event planner with a penchant for modern aesthetics. The Grande Rockies Resort in Canmore, Alberta was a perfect fit for her modern Canmore mountain wedding. Breanne wanted to a little glam too and the Grande Rockies Penthouse suite fit perfectly for her pre-wedding activities.
The couple chose shades of purple and ivory for their wedding couples. Breanne wanted the room to look elegant, so chose two different table cloths that had a touch of shimmer. She used small touches of purple with the menu / thank you card and centerpieces. The space looked elegant and classic without being overly purple.
From the Bride:
CMC ” What were your top three moments of the day?”
Bride: – “Our first look. It was a really special moment because it was just the two of us. Being such a busy day it was so nice to have a few minutes just the two of us could share. It was also the perfect opportunity to show Tristan that I had his ring engraved with our wedding date and our song, Better Together.
When my veil flew off during the ceremony. It was a windy day and I had trouble keeping my veil on during our photos but really wanted to wear it as I walked down the aisle. Mid way through the ceremony it came off and flew towards our guests, thankfully someone caught it. Everyone laughed and I joked that this was in lieu of having a bouquet toss. It was a funny moment and helped us to relax.
Reception dance. We had the best dance party. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night. It was so much fun. The floor was packed until it was time for the music to turn off.
Our wedding song. Jack Johnson, Better Together. This was the song that Tristan chose to play when he proposed.” ~ Breanne
CMC – What were your top three wedding details?
Bride: “Centerpieces. I thought they were so beautiful. I told our florist I wanted a mix of succulents and flowers in shades of purple and white. Our wedding coordinator made wooden boxes and gold table number signs. I was so impressed how it all came together.
Sweets table. The sweets were delicious and the table looked great. I had ordered a mix of cookies, cupcakes and a small wedding cake that matched our colours. After a three course dinner I wanted to offer our guests an opportunity to have something little sweet if they wanted.
My dress. I love my dress. I had been looking for something fitted at the top with a full skirt and just the right amount of sparkle. When I found this dress I knew it was perfect. I bought the dress in Winnipeg before I moved to Calgary, so the dress has extra special significance because I bought it with my family in my hometown.”
