I’m so excited to share this beautiful Canmore wedding photographed by the talented duo, Erin and Andrew of Photographik. If you’ve been longing for Spring, then this wedding will surely lift your mood. Spring in Canmore is especially stunning when everything is lush and green! I love that this couple, incorporated into their wedding, all the colors found naturally in the mountains during the spring season; blue, green, grey, white and brown. The result is a wedding that perfectly complements the natural surroundings. Of course, a gorgeous couple and stunning views of the Three Sisters mountain peaks doesn’t hurt either!
Photographik captured some gorgeous photos of the couple in the beautiful mountain scenery.
From the Photographers:
Heather and Matt were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at The Canmore Nordic Centre – Bill Warren Training Centre with the Three Sisters Mountain range as their backdrop. Their closest friends and family travelled from all over to celebrate their June 21st, 2014 wedding on the eve of the summer solstice. Their wedding took place on the longest day of the year and they took advantage of the lovely evening light for wedding portraits with some of Canmore’s most famous mountains as their setting.
Heather and Matt are practicing Emergency doctors in Ontario, but wanted to celebrate their marriage in the Canadian Rockies. Heather grew up spending summers in Canmore and learning to ski in the area. Her family owns a cabin with her maid of honor’s family and because of this mountain getaway, Heather’s heart truly calls the Canmore mountains home.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Heather and Matt made sure to make the most of their time in the Rockies. Matt and his groomsmen took in a round of golf at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Heather and her bridesmaids hiked Lady MacDonald as a kind of pseudo bachelorette party. A Canmore wedding was the perfect decision for this active couple. They even gifted each other a round of golf for their mini-moon and the Arc’teryx hiking jacket Heather has had her eye on for years. She modeled it for us in her wedding gown. It was the perfect look for a Canmore bride.
The Bill Warren Training Centre boasted beautiful views and a lovely wrap around terrace for cocktail hour. It also served as the perfect jumping off point for taking Heather and Matt out for twilight hour photos as the sun was going down. Heather’s heart lives in the Canadian Rockies so it was important for her to have some wedding photos that showcased the Canmore landscape. Being just outside of Canmore’s city center, we were just minutes away from awesome mountain vistas. It was easy to pull them away for some end of night portraits that turned out to be some of the best photographs from the entire day.
