Brian and Clarianne, originally from Ontario, Canada, and currently residing in northern Alberta, had never visited the Rocky Mountains before. They decided to plan a weekend away to visit Banff and the mountains. Little did Clarianne know that Brian had secretly planned to propose to her during their trip. Brian contacted Sharon from Naturally Chic to help him arrange not only a romantic proposal, but also a complete romantic “proposal weekend” as he called it. The weekend would start off with the proposal and then culminate in a number of activities including dinner at the Rimrock Resort, a visit to Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefields.
Sharon and Brian worked out a plan for weekend. First up, was a hike that would take the couple to a secluded location where a beautiful table was set up complete with china, silverware, champagne, chocolates and a picnic lunch. This is where Brian would propose.
Brian convinced Clarianne that it would be fun to go for a short hike on their arrival into Banff, while they awaited check-in time at their hotel. Brian enlisted the help of Tara Whittaker Photography to help capture the proposal and ensure that the romantic moment would be remembered for years to come.
The picnic was set up just off the pathway on a small sandy beach by a large fallen tree. When Brian and Clarianne rounded a corner on their hike, they could see a table set in the distance. It wasn’t until they neared the picnic set-up that Clarianne realized that the picnic was for her. It was there that Brian dropped down on one knee and proposed to the delight of Clarianne.
As the couple neared the table, a sign with Clarianne’s name pointed to the beautiful picnic set up.
After Clarianne said “yes!”, the couple sat down, took some time together and enjoyed their private picnic.
After the picnic lunch, the couple was met by a chauffeur from Highland Executive Chauffeur, who would take them to various locations around Banff. Tara Whittaker Photography followed along to take “engagment” photos of the couple that would eventually be shared with family and friends.
“This engagement session was different from any other I’ve photographed. The emotions were so raw – happy tears from Clarianne and adoring looks from Brian. It was so special to be included in the momentum of this new beginning for Brian and Clarianne.”
Tara captured some beautiful photos of the happy couple.
Banff Canoe Club generously provided canoes and the couple took a leisurely paddle.
