About Canadian Mountain Chic

Hello and Welcome to Canadian Mountain Chic!

Canadian Mountain Chic is dedicated to inspiring modern couples who love the mountains as much as we do! From denim and hoodies, to Sorels and Down we fully celebrate the mountain culture and all that it means to the couples who marry in these magnificent places. We also fully celebrate married life after the wedding!

This all Canadian wedding and lifestyle blog, is dedicated to showcasing beautifully photographed Canadian weddings, engagement sessions, proposals and other fun shoots set in spectacular mountain settings from all across this great country. We embrace mountain life at it’s best and hope you will find inspiration in our ‘Mountain Life’ section to live a life as beautiful as the scenery!

Sharon Auld, founder and managing editor of Canadian Mountain Chic, started this blog so Canadians would have a place all their own to showcase incredible talent and beautiful weddings. She’s also the owner and lead designer for Naturally Chic, a boutique wedding and design firm based in the Canadian Rockies. Sharon’s work for Naturally Chic has been featured on many of the top wedding sites including Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks, Wedding Bells and numerous other blogs and publications.

Sharon’s family has a long history in the mountains and were some of the earliest adventurers and homesteaders in the BC and Alberta mountains. She truly believes that the mountains bring peace and that there’s inherent value in being in nature.

“The mountains play an important role in how we define ourselves as Canadians; rugged, hard-working, and caring. Our mountain culture has a rich history and getting married in the mountains is one of the special privileges we have as Canadians. Getting married is an incredibly special time in a couple’s life and is deeply meaningful for the families. Hopefully Canadian Mountain Chic brings joy and inspiration to all the couples that love and respect the mountains as much as we do!” Sharon Auld
